Vaz Dhani Wilson, OTD, OTR/L, CBIS, RYT

Vaz is originally from Indianapolis and has been residing in RVA since July 2021. She holds a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Indianapolis and completed her Bachelor of Science at Indiana University. Vaz is also certified as a Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Brain Injury Specialist. Her training includes sensory-motor approaches such as Finding Safety & Stability and the Astronaut Training Protocol by Vital Links.

Vaz has worked across a diverse range of pediatric settings, interacting with youth of all ages through in-home and outpatient therapy, therapeutic day schools, and community-based mental health services. She has also gained experience with adults in an inpatient rehab hospital, broadening her ability to provide care across the lifespan. Before becoming an occupational therapist, Vaz worked as a teaching assistant at a children’s learning center and preschool, where she discovered her "home" in pediatric settings.

Vaz is passionate about embracing neurodiversity, advocating for LGBTQ+ and culturally diverse individuals, and integrating trauma-informed practices. Her approach to occupational therapy is profoundly influenced by her personal experiences as an AuDHD and South Asian-American woman, shaping her authentic and empathetic style of care. She prioritizes creating a safe, inclusive environment where clients feel empowered, validated, and seen for their individual identities and life experiences. Building meaningful therapeutic connections, fostering community care, encouraging self-advocacy, modeling awareness and adaptability, and providing compassionate yet straightforward support are fundamental aspects of her practice. Outside of work, Vaz enjoys taking it easy (possibly napping), engaging in her special interests, exploring nature, or going on adventures with her husband & two pups.

Holly is dedicated to transforming her clients’ lives and has a special passion for supporting children & families dealing with traumatic stress. She prioritizes clear, compassionate collaboration with both caregivers and providers. With an ever-growing repertoire of playful and engaging treatment strategies, she creates an environment where healing and growth can flourish. 

Holly is a trained provider of the Safe and Sound Protocol by Integrated Listening Systems (iLs); a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM); and a candidate for endorsement as an Infant Mental Health Specialist through the Virginia Association for Infant Mental Health. She has also completed training in: Autism, pediatric feeding, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), sensory-integrative processing and nervous-system regulation, relationship-oriented interventions, play-based interventions, sound-based therapies, visual perception, craniosacral therapy, and more! This breadth of knowledge allows her to fine-tune her child-centered, trauma-responsive approach. She draws from a robust research base that includes attachment theory, polyvagal theory, interpersonal neurobiology, neuroscience, and her comprehensive OT education. 

A devoted supporter of the advancement of pediatric practice, Holly served for six years on the board of the Virginia Occupational Therapy Association and continues to volunteer for the organization as possible. Holly is the editor of two books: The Connected Therapist: Relating Through the Senses, and Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors: Brain-Body-Sensory Strategies that Really Work.

Sarah is a dedicated advocate and educator specializing in Autism and ADHD (AuDHD) support for families in Richmond, VA. Receiving diagnoses as a neurodivergent adult was a transformative experience for Sarah, inspiring a passionate advocacy for neurodivergent individuals and emphasizing the importance of acceptance and accommodation.

With extensive experience spanning over 13 years in child development, family advocacy, and personalized service coordination, Sarah offers a wealth of expertise in their field. Their professional background includes founding an educational program and advocating for families across medical, educational, and legal contexts. Certified in High Fidelity Wraparound service coordination, Sarah focuses on providing specialized support to neurodivergent children and families, with a strong emphasis on academic supports, trauma-informed care, and mental health advocacy.

Sarah's approach centers on compassionate, personalized support that recognizes and meets the unique needs of neurodivergent individuals and their families. They are passionate about empowering others to advocate for themselves and create environments where they can thrive. Katy Nowlin, MS, QMHP-C 

Administrative Coordinator | Mental Health & Developmental Specialist

Katy is an RVA native who lives in Midlothian with her two children. She received her BS in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her MS in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Development through Southern New Hampshire University. Katy is also currently pursuing an M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the College of William & Mary. She has received training in several therapeutic modalities, including Infant Massage Education and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). Katy is registered through the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Child (QMHP-C). 


Katy spent 5 years working in the field of Early Intervention supporting infants and toddlers with developmental delays. She has served as a clinic facilitator for interdisciplinary autism evaluations. She has also worked as a Case Manager for children and adolescents in the community mental health setting for children of all ages.


Katy has lived experience both as a late-identified neurodivergent adult (AuDHD) and as the parent of a neurodivergent child. They are passionate about advocating for neurodiversity-affirming approaches for children and adults of all ages. Other passion areas include promoting disability rights, educational advocacy, autistic joy, and supporting queer and trans youth.
